CHIVAS SUPPORTS STARTUPS WITH PURPOSE AT EMERGE 2020

3 MIN READ, MAY 23, 2020
This year EMERGE CHALLENGE has a special nomination from Chivas, dedicated to startups 'who blend profit with purpose'. The prize of €1,000 will be awarded to the most promising social tech or clean tech startup with positive impact on the society and our home planet.
"At Chivas, we believe that blended is better – in life, in business and in Scotch – and that you don't need to choose between making money and making the world a better place."
This belief was instilled by our founding brothers, James & John Chivas, who supported their local community as their business grew in 19th century Scotland. Today, more than ever, we need to work together to build a more sustainable future for people and the planet.
The startup winner will be chosen during EMERGE CHALLENGE semi-finals on 1 - 2 June. This special batch will be judged by:

  • Alexander Chekan, who is deeply involved in the startup ecosystem of the CEE region and proudly serves as a mentor and board director for various companies, including pro bono projects like Google Launchpad and Association of STEM education for kids.
  • Darya Chumakova, Deputy Director for Program Activities, Program Manager for Environmentally Friendly Lifestyles at Centre for Environmental Solutions. Darya focuses on sustainable consumption and an environmentally friendly lifestyle. She actively promotes the ideas of a green office & sustainable transport.
  • Sasha Yakovlev, Co-founder, OneSoil. At OneSoil they develop applications and an online platform for precision farming that are based on satellite imagery and machine learning technologies. In other words, makes farming all over the world simple, for free.
