Since 2018, EMERGE conference is set to bring together tech entrepreneurs, community influencers, prominent corporations, and investors from the New East region - CEE, MENA, Türkiye, and Central Asia. In 2023, EMERGE took place in Dubai for the first time. Let’s take a look at the numbers behind the event.
26 countries
Almost 1100 attendees from 26 countries participated in the conference in Dubai. The top 10 countries represented at EMERGE, listed alphabetically:
60 speakers
At EMERGE in Dubai, there were two stages: the Inside stage and the Outside stage. The agenda was divided into two main tracks: #Founderstories and #Trendwatching. This year, we also introduced two new formats - the Workshop rooms and Wellness activities. The investor breakfast and Women in Tech brunch roundtables were a delight and were in demand! We were happy to see 60 speakers from 19 countries sharing their insights during the days of the conference. By the way, 45% of all speakers were female!
137 startups
137 startups joined us at EMERGE 2023. Those exciting founders come to the conference to gain knowledge, expand their network, strike deals, and potentially become the next unicorn in their industry.
8 winners at EMERGE CHALLENGE
As always, EMERGE kicked off with the highly anticipated annual startup pitching competition, EMERGE CHALLENGE – which culminated in 8 finalists securing over $1M in investment commitment. Winners include:
120 startups at the Startup Alley
During the two-day event, the Startup Alley featured 120 startup booths where products were showcased.
100 startups at the EMERGE 100 Report
EMERGE 100 report was initiated 2 years ago by the team and partners of EMERGE tech сonference to spotlight emerging tech startups from the New East region (including countries
from CEE, Central Asia, MENA, and Türkiye), who dream big and go global from the first steps. You can download the report on our website.
147 mentorship sessions
EMERGE is always packed with things to do, and 2023 was no exception. 48 mentors gave valuable recommendations to startups in different areas.
106 investors and corporates
With so many startups, investors are never far behind. 106 business angels, VCs, and corporates attended the event, setting up meetings and connecting with the startups over two days.
34 people in the EMERGE Team made it all happen
18 team members were working day and night to make EMERGE 2023 happen. The whole team and 16 volunteers dedicated their time, energy, and efforts to make you enjoy the event during those hot days in Dubai.
